The Four Pillars of Viksit Bharat

The mission is anchored by four key demographic groups that are both the drivers and the beneficiaries of this national progress:

• Yuva (Youth): Channeling the demographic dividend into innovation, research, and leadership.
• Garib (Poor): Achieving zero poverty through financial empowerment and inclusive social welfare.
• Mahilayen (Women): Ensuring 70 percent participation of women in economic activities and providing equal rights in all sectors.
• Annadata (Farmers): Transforming India into the food basket of the world through sustainable farming and increased agricultural productivity.

Core Objectives and Economic Goals

The roadmap defines clear economic and social benchmarks to be reached within the next two decades:

• $30 Trillion Economy: Aiming for unprecedented economic expansion to position India among the worlds richest and strongest nations.
• High Per Capita Income: Targeting a per capita income range between USD 15,000 and USD 18,000 by 2047.
• World-Class Infrastructure: Consolidating physical, digital, and social infrastructure to enhance the ease of living and doing business.
• Universal High-Quality Education: Providing affordable, high-quality school and higher education to 100 percent of the population.

Strategic Kartavyas: Accelerating Progress

The mission is operationalized through three primary kartavyas (duties) that guide government policy and public investment:

• First Kartavya: Sustaining economic growth by strengthening manufacturing capacity, MSMEs, and world-class infrastructure.
• Second Kartavya: Building human capacity through targeted investments in healthcare, education, and skill development.
• Third Kartavya: Ensuring inclusive development and social justice, including tax reforms and ease of doing business to promote formalization.

Participatory Governance: Jan Bhagidhari

A unique aspect of the Viksit Bharat mission is its emphasis on Jan Bhagidhari (peoples participation). The government has opened multiple channels for citizens, especially the youth, to contribute their ideas for nation-building:

• MyGov Portal: A dedicated space for sharing innovative suggestions and ideas for the realisation of the 2047 vision.
• MY Bharat Portal: Specifically designed to foster youth engagement, offering opportunities for experiential learning and volunteering.
• Voice of Youth: Encouraging university and college students to participate in discussions, debates, and workshops to help chalk out the transformative agenda.
